Broadway Couples
This is a concert idea that I have in the works. It will be very
easy to put together because most Broadway Couples A) like to work
together and B) typically own there own charts as well.
The idea is to have two couples per show, four artists total. The artists provide
their own charts, solo and duet, four or possibly five per couple. Marimack Productions
will provide four to five charts of songs that lend themselves to four-part harmony.
It would also be necessary for the orchestra to provide two to four charts that
they could play on their own.
The songs would be a mixture of popular and standard Broadway tunes the patter
would be a mixture of personal stories and Broadway experiences designed to let
the audience get to know the artists.
I’m thinking of artists like, J. Mark McVey and Christy
Tarr, Marin Mazie and Jason Danielli, or Liz Larsen and
Sal Viviano, Terri Hansen and Kip Wilbourn
to name a few. All who have great Broadway and concert credits.
Someone with the orchestra could conduct this program. Or, Marimack could include
a Music Director/Conductor and provide three singers. I could also provide a
MD/Conductor in addition to the four singers.
